JD Heyman is the editor-in-chief of Entertainment Weekly Magazine[1][2][3]. He previously served as the deputy editor for entertainment at People, and senior writer at Us Weekly.

Early Life[edit]

Heyman grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and Menlo Park, California. He has a BA from Macalester College and MS from Columbia University School of Journalism, where he has also worked as an adjunct professor.

Entertainment Weekly[edit]

Heyman was named to the editor-in-chief position in June 2019 as the magazine changed its publication schedule from a weekly to a monthly format. The first monthly issue is slated for August 2019. Entertainment Weekly is owned by Meredith Corporation and was previously owned by Time, Inc. [1][2][3].

People[edit]

In his role at People, Heyman oversaw initiatives on AR and VR and developed relationships with partners like the Academy Awards, the Golden Globes, Emmys, and the Cannes and Toronto Film Festivals, and helped to build PeopleTV OTT network. He also developed franchises like “25 Women Changing the World.” Heyman began his career at People as an assistant editor in 2002. [1][2][3].

Heyman lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
