J. D. Scott
J. D. Scott is an American author and peace officer. He published his debut novel For My Girls in 2025.[1]
Biography
Scott has served as a deputy sheriff in Iowa for nearly two decades.[2] In addition to his law enforcement career, he is an active church leader.[3] He is also a board member of the HAMO Foundation.[4]
Career
Scott began writing while working full-time in public service.
In 2019, Scott served as the primary investigator and filed charges in a high-profile Story County homicide case, which ultimately led to a conviction in 2024.[5]
