J. Robert Moskin (1923 - 2019) was an American historian and journalist. He reported from troubled spots around the globe: from Korea, the Middle East, eastern Europe, and Vietnam.[1] He is also the author of several bestselling books.
Personal life
He was born on 09 May 1923 in New York City, United States.[2]
His parents were Morris and Irma Rosenfeld Moskin.[3]
He was married to Doris Marianne Bloch.[4]
He was married for a second time to Lynn Carole Goldberg.[5][6]
He died on 24 March 2019.[7]
Education
He attended Horace Mann School and graduated from Harvard College, class of 1944, where he had been managing editor of the Harvard Crimson.[8]
He earned his Masters degree in American history from Columbia University.[9]
Career
Military Career
He served three years in the U.S. Army, including in the Pacific during World War II.[10]
Journalistic Career
He served for 19 years as an editor of Look magazine and the last five of those years as its Foreign Editor.[11]
