JEG Tower @ One Acacia[1] is a 22-story Grade A office and retail high-rise building in Cebu City, Philippines. Developed by JEG Development Corporation[2], the tower is now a LEED[3] pre-certified silver structure that features state-of-the-art facilities with 100% back-up power, VRF air conditioning and 24/7 capability.

As one of the first green Cebu-based building, it boasts of enhanced interior spaces for maximum views and natural lighting. JEG Tower[1] also houses landscaped green spaces along with other energy-saving amenities in the form of bike racks and water-conserving shower rooms.

JEG Tower[1] is currently processing its PEZA accreditation and is expected to be turned over in the first quarter of 2020.

Location[edit]

JEG Tower is located on Archbishop Reyes Avenue in Cebu City. It is the main thoroughfare connecting the two major business districts: Cebu IT Park and Cebu Business Park. According to The Freeman[4], as the Queen City of the South, Cebu City[5] is the second most preferred and ideal location for BPOs, expanding corporations and multinationals.

Metro Cebu is the second largest metropolitan area in the Philippines. It is recognized as the main point of commerce, trade, education and industry in the Visayan region. It is now a global hub for business process outsourcing, tourism, construction, tourism, and Information technology.

Features[edit]

JEG Tower features a cutting-edge design by CASAS Architects[6]. As a green building, it houses enhanced interior spaces for maximum views and natural lighting that can help save up on electricity. With an ergonomic design, it is now LEED pre-certified silver for BD+C[7] and assures that JEG Tower will few use less water and energy and emit less greenhouse gases[8]. It also has green landscaped spaces within the building and other resource-efficient amenities such as bike racks and water-conserving shower rooms.

Status[edit]

To date, the JEG Tower is currently under construction. The earliest fit-out will be accommodated on the 3rd Quarter of 2019. The expected turnover date is on the 1st Quarter of 2020[8]. JEG Tower broke ground last February 2018.[8]

Developer[edit]

The JEG Development Corporation (JDC[2]) started out as business holdings company in Cebu. It was first founded by its namesake, Jose E. Garcia to hold its business interest before making it into a staffed and operating corporation in August 2003. As the new generation of the Cebu-based family emerges, JDC now focuses on being a premier real estate developer in Cebu and is starting with JEG Tower @ One Acacia[9].

Their previous estate developments include the retail strip, The Gallery and a Japanese-inspired homes, The Tomadachi Residences. JDC also has a subsidiary focused on energy generation and distribution. They own the Visayan Electric Company, the country's second largest electric utility servicing the greater part of Metro Cebu and five other municipalities of Cebu Province.
