JLS 2.0 is the fifth studio album by English boy band JLS. It was released in the UK on 3 December 2021.
Background[edit]
JLS 2.0 is the first album released by JLS of new material since Evolution in 2012. The album was announced in March 2021.[1]
The album's release was accompanied by the Beat Again Tour and the single Eternal Love, also written by Ed Sheeran.[2] The single charted at #71 on the UK Singles Chart, but reached #5 on the sales chart.[3] The promotional singles Day One and Postcard charted at #73 and #61 respectively on the sales chart.[4][5]
JB described the album as "This is the new and improved version [of JLS]. People will recognise the album for being us, but there's some new flavours on there,".[6]
When it came to discussing their favourite songs, Oritsé said: "I love 'Glow', the reason why I love 'Glow' is because I've always wanted us to do something that had a gospel element to it, having the gospel influence is just something I've always wanted us to do so I'm really excited about." while Marvin said "There's a record called 'Feel Your Love', which was a song that we did years ago and we've done so many songs that didn't make albums for different reasons. This one was a record we wrote with Lamar and it was produced by Benny Benassi, so it's the most dance-y record on the album. That's my favourite.".[7]
Production[edit]
The album was produced by Lost Boy, production trio TMS, Wayne Hector, Steve Mac and Ed Sheeran, the latter of whom helped pen the lead single 'Eternal Love'.[8]
