Jaaziah Peters Bakare popularly known as Jaaziah Peter was christened[5] Wahab Bakare.

Jaaziah Peters is a life coach. He was born in Ilorin[6] Kwara[7] state, Nigeria by Mr Azeez Bakare and Mrs Felicia Bakare who are both natives of Edo state in Nigeria.

Early Life[edit]

Jaaziah Peter was born on the 17th of September 1983 to the family of Mr and Mrs Felix Bakare. He was from a Muslim[8] background which suggests the reason he was named Wahab Bakare by his parents. While growing up, the family do constantly spend their holidays in ile-ife[9] at his maternal aunt's place.

At the age of about five, During one of such visits, Jaaziah met a lady at a church service who asked for his name, which he replied as, "my name is Wahab", but surprisingly, the lady said, "how can a fine boy like you bear Wahab, from today your name is Peter" the boy kinda likes the name, so when he got home he told everyone including his mother that he is making a change of name, that henceforth his name shall be called Peter, no more Wahab. They thought little Jaaziah was joking but right from childhood Jaaziah has been a dogged, stubborn go-getter who knows what he wants and hardly bends his will.
On an occasion his mother said each time she calls him Wahab he will refuse to answer, after several shouting, young Jaaziah will approach the mum and say, " Have I not told you that my name is Peter? That was why I did not answer you, when you are ready to call me Peter I will answer". This battle went on for several weeks until the mother became weary and decided to admit. That was how Jaaziah successfully unofficially changed his name from Wahab to Peter.

Soon everyone in the neighborhood and the local church got to know him as Peter. The mother recalled that as a boy he likes to play the role of a pastor during kids play among his peers while growing up. His father Mr Azeez Bakare is a professional driver who was always on the road, therefore had little or no time for his family. He latter became a Christian and changed his name also to Felix Bakare.

While growing up, Jaaziah is said to have hatred for his father probably because of the old man's heavy drinking habit. On several occasions he will be drunk and fall down on the road, sometimes sleep off at the bar and at other times someone would have to accompany him home because he was drunk.

Education[edit]

Jaaziah attended public schools both in his primary and secondary school. He is known to always come first position in his class, all through his primary school days with some few exeptions. Once he came third position in his primary four, at another time he came second position. Apart from these two occasions, he retained his first position all through primary school.

Jaaziah Peter attended Tanke ile-iwe Primary School between 1990 - 1995 He gained admission into Government Day Secondary School in 1995 and finished in 2001. Even though he was very brilliant he barely passed three subjects in his Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Owing to bad influence and the gangster lifestyle he has adopted in his Secondary School days. In his teenage years he was involved with some vices such as smoking cigarettes, indian hemp and drinking. He barely passed His NECO GCE after several attempts.

In 2003 He gained admission into the Kwara State College of Education[10] in Ilorin Kwara state[11] to study Fine and Applied Arts[12]. As fate will have it, he dropped out of school in his second year to pursue a career in music. He latter enrolled in NIIT to aquire a skill in graphics design, which he never completed. In 2010 he obtained a form in Unibadan distant learning centre in Lagos. And again he could not follow through with it owning to lack of finances, because he had left home at the time and started fending off himself. He was known to have started hustle at a tender age. As at 17years old he had started doing menial jobs to cater for his younger ones.

Music[edit]

After finishing in Secondary School he was always relaxing and plating his hair which his father frowns at sternly. On a particular occasion in 2002, while his father was scolding him for this act, he made a statement which will latter become a source of inspiration[13] for young and ambitious Jaaziah to venture into music. It was reported that his father said,"are you a musician, why are you plating your hair?" this statement immediately struck Jaaziah and that night he composed[14] his first song. He latter composed almost 300 songs in the course of his musical adventure. His ambition and love for music was so strong which led to him dropping out of school in 2005.

After he left school in 2005, he journeyed to Lagos[15] along side his younger brother John Bakare who just finished Secondary school at the time, His brother was his back up singer. While in Lagos, he recorded a couple of songs which he tried to promote through Raypower fm but finance has always been his challenge and probably the songs were not too good. He tried several times to secure a marketing deal in alaba market which proved abortive. He entered for several talen shows but was rejected. Every effort to make a headway in the music industry was never successful.

After seven years of fruitless efforts, he gave up his ambition to be a musician and relocated back to ilorin in September 2012.

He landed at his uncle's house whom he had informed earlier on that he is relocating to Lagos. Unknown to Jaaziah that his uncle was also squatting with a friend in a room with two other guys plus Jaaziah and his brother John making six occupants. This made it impossible for them to stay there.

A week later they moved to their cousins ( Gladys Jerome) house who seized the opportunity to turn them into money making machines by making the two innocent teenage boys to start hawking Puffpuff in the streets of Ikotun[18] in Lagos. Two weeks later Jaaziah decided to rebel which made his cousin to push him out of her house. This made Jaaziah homeless in the street of Lagos with no place to lay his head. That was when he met Kelly Nwogu[19], a young phone call hustler at the time who took him in and the two later became friends.

After he got married in 2015, he joined Apostle David Adekunle Majasan's church were he later became the Church's administrator and personal assistant to the overseer. This new position helped Jaaziah to rapidly change and advanced speedily in his spiritual growth. He was later discovered to be an apostle himself and was accorded the pulpit of the church to start preaching every Wednesday service. That was when he started his revealation of "Wisdom for the City" After a while, there was a huge misunderstanding between Jaaziah and Apostle David Majasan which led to Jaaziah leaving the church at the time, and switched camp to Apostle Abraham Adams of the Potters Court of Glory.
