Jack Youden Prize
The Jack Youden Prize is awarded annually by the American Society for Quality and the American Statistical Association, for the best expository paper in their joint journal Technometrics in the past year.[1]. The first prize was established in 1969 [2] [3] and continued every year thereafter [4] [5] [6] [7]
The prize is named after William Jack Youden, commemorating his achievements in Statistics. It is presented at the Fall Technical conference organized jointly by the American Society for Quality and the American Statistical Association, together with the Frank Wilcoxon Prize which was also established in 1969 [8] [9]. The Jack Youden Prize consists of a certificate and a cash honorarium of US$1000 (as of 2022).
The criteria for selecting the winning paper are[10] [11] [12]
- Paper quality and organization and clarity of presentation
- Effectiveness of exposition and completeness of coverage of the chosen topic
- Choice of material, its current interest and topicality
