Jackie Clarke is an American actress and comedian who has worked primarily in television as a comedy writer and producer. She has written for sitcoms such as ABC's Happy Endings, NBC's Superstore, Undateable, and Marry Me. In 2021, she co-created Kenan on NBC.

Life and career[edit]

Clarke is originally from Franklin, Massachusetts. She started her comedy career at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater (UCB) doing improv and sketch comedy in her sketch group Respecto Montalban, founded in 1998. In addition, she has written for various VH1 programs, was a writer on The Big Gay Sketch Show, and a contributing writer for Fashion Police on the E! network. As an essayist, Clarke has written for "Time Out New York," "Playgirl" and Gawker. Clarke continued to perform weekly at UCB in Los Angeles with the sketch group, "Death by Roo Roo." She is also co-creator and co-star of the long-running, and critically-acclaimed Showgirls: The Best Movie Ever Made Ever! Her other stage shows include Jackie and Judy: Looking for Good Dick with Judy Greer, and The New Ugly, a three-part dark comedy.[1] In addition to that she has written for sitcoms such as Happy Endings, Undateable, and Marry Me. Acting credits include voicing the main charatcer of Courtney Martin on Glenn Martin, DDS as well as appearing as a sketch regular on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and as a VH1 panelist on various talking head programs. As a television writer, Clarke has spent several seasons as head writer of NBC's Superstore and in 2021 she co-created (alongside David Caspe) the NBC sitcom Kenan starring SNL's Kenan Thompson.
