Jackrabbit Technologies is a software as a service (SaaS) company based in Huntersville, North Carolina. The company pioneered and markets cloud-based class management software for youth activity centers. The platform is utilized by gymnastics, dance, swim, cheer, music, and childcare businesses. Founded in 2004 by Mark Mahoney and Mike Carper, Jackrabbit Technologies is currently used by over 15,000 schools & studios in 36 countries, including all states within the U.S.

History In 2004, co-founders Mark Mahoney and Mike Carper combined their love of sports and backgrounds in computer science to develop the first web-based class management system. Though originally created for use with gymnastics programs, the software was later adapted and specialized for other activities such as dance and swim. A year after their initial launch, the company began catering to international clients as of 2005. In 2008 Jackrabbit expanded their software further for use in the Childcare industry with the introduction of Jackrabbit Care and continues to offer this version to this day. Leadership within the company expanded further with the addition of sitting COO Darin Soll in 2017.

Software The web-based class management software offers users automated processes designed to streamline their administrative workflow. Users are able to register students, track enrollment and monitor children’s learning process. Administrators can also communicate with families who have students enrolled in their programs and view management dashboards. The software features financial tools as well, offering options to set up staff payroll, collect payments from parents and guardians, check overdue accounts and create fiscal reports.

In addition to gymnastics, dance, swim, cheer, music, and childcare, Jackrabbit offers specialized software to more niche programs such as; theater, horse riding, art, martial arts, ninja and other youth activities.
