Jacob Rathinaraj is an Indian cinematographer known for his works in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Telugu-language cinema. His works are *Kadhal solla asai* (2015), *Thanga Ratham* (2017), *Repeat Shoe* (2022), *Ghosty* (2022), *Jalsa* (2022).

Career

Jacob was born and brought up in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, a southern state of India. He was the fifth child of a large family. In 2006, Jacob Rathinaraj started his career working in the Telugu film *Lakshmi Kalyanam* as an assistant cinematographer to R. A. Krishna. From 2005 to 2012, he worked in Mumbai. Many Hindi and Punjabi movies were worked on during that period. In 2012, he joined as an associate cinematographer with Mr. Vijay Ulaganath. He got his first break as a cinematographer in the Tamil film *Kadal solla asai*. He is a pioneer in using new equipment and cameras.

Personal life

He is married to Meera Shree and currently resides in Chennai.
