Jacopo Rampini (born August 17, 1986) is an Italian and American actor.
Early life
Born in Rome, he lived for several years first in Milan, then in San Francisco and Paris, where he graduated in literature and philosophy from the Sorbonne. He studied acting at the American Conservatory Theatre and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. He lives in New York, where he works in the theater, on television and in independent film.[1][2]
Career
In 2014 he played the role of young Stalin in the television series The World Wars, narrated by Jeremy Renner on the History channel. The first episode, which aired on Memorial Day, was preceded by a message from Barack Obama.[3]
In 2016 he starred in the RAI series Medici, subtitled Masters of Florence with Dustin Hoffman and Richard Madden on Netflix. The same year he coauthored the musical play “Visuality”, which he performed at the Queens Theater in New York with the Spanish music group CreArtBox. In 2017 he coauthored the play “Trump Blues or The Golden Age”, presented at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, written with his father, the journalist and writer Federico Rampini.[4].
In 2018 he returned to television in the series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, set in New York and directed by Mariska Hargitay. In 2019 he played the role of Nick in FBI, the American television series created by Dick Wolf for CBS[5]. In the same year he starred in the US television miniseries Catch-22 directed by George Clooney in Italy. Also in 2019 he co-starred in the feature film Being Leonardo da Vinci, written and directed by Massimiliano Finazzer Flory, made in collaboration with Rai Cinema and with the patronage of the National Committee for the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci.[6]
In 2021 he was cast in Halston the Netflix miniseries produced by Ryan Murphy and starring Ewan McGregor.
