Jacqueline Ward (born 1961) is an author and psychologist from Manchester, UK. She was born in Oldham in 1961 and attended Bluecoat Secondary School. Her first degree in psychology was from Open University, and her doctorate from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Novel Writing[edit]

Her first novel, SmartYellowTM[1], was published in 2015 by Elsewhen Press, writing as J A Christy.[2] This was followed by the DS Pearce series published in 2015/16 by Kindle Press[3].[4]

In 2017, Ward signed with Corvus Atlantic Books who published her psychological thriller Perfect Ten[5] in September 2018[6][7] Geoffrey Wansell praised the book in his review for the Daily Mail, calling it "wildly entertaining".[8] It has since been reviewed widely by Take a Break Magazine, Readers First, LoveReading, Waterstones, WH Smiths and Dymocks Bookstore in Australia. It has been stocked by WH Smith, Asda and Sainsbury's and topped The Bookseller small publishers sales charts for four weeks in May 2019.

Her second psychological thriller How To Play Dead is published in 2019.

Academic career[edit]

She is a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society. She was awarded a doctorate in 2007 for her work on narrative psychology and identity construction and published a text book Identity, Health and Women[9] with Palgrave MacMillan in 2010 that introduced a new model of Identity Construction.[10]

She is a Health Psychologist registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC). She is also a Chartered Scientist registered with the Science Council in the UK. She became and Honorary Fellow of the Safety and Reliability Society in 2018 and has contributed to its quarterly journal, Safety and Reliability[11]

Awards[edit]

She is also known as Jacqueline Christodoulou-Ward and received an MBE in 2013 for services to vulnerable people [12] .
