Jacques Jonathan Nyemb is a Cameroonian lawyer born on 25 June 1987. He practices at Cabinet Nyemb in Douala, Cameroon.
Early life and education
Jacques Jonathan Nyemb was born on 25 June 1987. His father is a lawyer and his mother is an educator. He studied in Cameroon until the second grade before obtaining his baccalaureate with honors in France.[1] He entered the University of Paris II - Panthéon Assas and obtained a master’s degree in Banking and Financial Law.[2] He also studied at the London School of Economics where he obtained a Master of Laws. He also holds a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University, obtained in 2016.[3]
Career
Jacques Jonathan Nyemb was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2011 and the Cameroon Bar in 2017. He began his career at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton before joining Cabinet Nyemb, one of Cameroon's leading business law firms, founded by his father Jacques Nyemb in 1996.[4][5]
In June 2019, he became the youngest member of the Board of Directors of the Groupement Interpatronal du Cameroun (GICAM), the main employers' organization in Cameroon created in 1957.[6] Since January 2022, he has served as GICAM's representative on Cameroon's National Competition Commission.[7][8]
In February 2020, he created a Think and Do Tank for the promotion of social innovation called The Okwelians that brings together about 500 people in Cameroon and the diaspora. The ambition of the organization is to build a community of ethical leaders committed to the sustainable transformation of Cameroon.[9][10]
