Jafari Tabar
Majid Ja'fari-tabar (Persian: مجید جعفریتبار, romanized: Majīd Ja‘farī-tabār) was born in 1961 in Qom, Iran. He studied preliminaries of knowledge, techniques of literature and calligraphy under his father, Ayatollah Mahmud Jafari-tabar (1918–1999). He memorized the Qur'an when he was an adolescent. Having graduated from high school in mathematics, he began studying Islam and ultimately was allowed to perform ijtihad (independendent reasoning).[1]
In 2013, the Iranian president, Hassan Rohani met with Majid Jafari-tabar during a visit to Qom.[2]
