Early life[edit]
Jameel Lateef Miller was born on November 25, 1996, in Cleveland, Ohio. Miller discovered music at the age of 9. He discovered his love for music by listening to his dad’s old CDs like Wu-Tang & and Westside Connection. Miller also grew up listening to Natasha Bedingfield , Green Day , & a bunch of other pop, country, and rock tracks alongside his cousin Tiara.[2]
Career[edit]
Jameel Miller started his professional audio engineering and music production journey right after leaving his former college University of Findlay after attending for 2 years to pursue a career in music and technology. While working part time, former teammate, friend, and rapper Marr G would then introduce him to talented rapper KRYL8R, formerly known as K3. These two would work on music day and night which helped Miller establish his sound and also add big name credits to his portfolio such as Jahkoy Palmer, Ye Ali and Westside Boogie. Miller believed in KRYL8R from day one and would do all his work for free. [3]
About a year later, Trey Lew reached out to Miller for help with his mixtape adding another big artist to his credits. While working on the project Trey Lew also created a tribute song dedicated to Kobe Bryant which gained the attention of many including the Bryant family. Miller was the main mix engineer. The song was produced by ONYB Free. [4]
Miller would later join the Recording Arts & technology program at a community college in his area. After enrolling into community college was able to join GRAMMY U, a program for college students created by The Recording Academy. It is famous for its Grammy Awards. He is a member of the Chicago chapter. Miller also joined Mix With The Masters and attended different engineer workshops. Miller was able to learn techniques and skills from notable and GRAMMY winning engineers such as Jaycen Joshua (Jhene Aiko, Brandy), Leslie Brathwaite (Cardi B, Lil Uzi Vert), Derek Ali (Kendrick Lamar, SZA), Anthony Cruz (Meek Mill) and more.
He has worked in multiple studios providing freelance audio engineering services throughout the Cleveland, OH and Los Angeles, CA regions. In some cases he was also an intern. These studios include but are not limited to XIV productions, Lava Room Recording, Sunbird Studios Midwest, Breakthrough Sound Studios, and more. [5] He now does most of his work in his studio apartment and continues to work with old and new clients with focus on mixing and providing minimal production if needed.
Throughout his career, Miller has had the opportunity to work on music containing major artists such as PARTYNEXTDOOR, Kehlani, Rio Da Yung OG, RBMG Artist Big Flame, RMC Mike, Corey Bapes, YSN Flow, Lil Cray, 808 Mondo, Westside Boogie, and more
