Jaiye Kuti (born 10 July 1969)[1] is a Nigerian actress, film producer, and businesswoman. She is the Chief Executive Officer of Jaylex Aesthetic Production.[2]

Early life and education[edit]

Born on 10 July 1969 into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Adisa Oluwale Ale in Ilaro, a local government area of Ogun State, Kuti had both primary and secondary school education in Ilaro, and further education at Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, where she studied secretarial administration and received a bachelor's degree in English at the University of Lagos.[citation needed] Kuti recently received an honorary doctorate degree given to her by Prowess University, Delaware, USA.[3][4][5]

Career[edit]

In 2002, Kuti appeared in the TV show Laff Patterns, which was her debut appearance. Kuti has since then appeared in various television programs such as Spiders, Everyday People, One Love, Face To Face, Ashewo Airport, Si Gbogbo Okunrin, Ogun Mi, and numerous other films.[6] She has been cast in mostly Yoruba Nollywood movies to play.[7][8]
