Jake Gilgen[edit]

Jake Thomas Gilgen (born November 15, 1998) is an ex-Australian Tag Rugby player. His sporting abilities were recognized in 2011, where he lead St. Joseph's College to the Tag Rugby State Championships at the age of 13 in Adelaide, South Australia. St. Joseph's won the division 2 Tag Rugby National Championship that year.[1]

Jake was born in Barmera, where he was known to be an all-round sportsman, excelling in state sports competitions such as Australian rules football, Basketball and Tennis, before gaining an interest in Tag Rugby through college. In 2013, Jake scored 81 goals in the Riverland Football League, with a personal best of 12 goals in a game.[2]

Jake retiried from Tag Rugby after finishing college, to focus on university studies at Flinders University. He currently lives in Adelaide with roomates, Ethan Klingbiel, Brody Watson, and Matt Wutke. Jake regularly plays football at his hometown, Barmera.[3]
