Jake Schauer

Jake Schauer is a recent graduate of the Oakwood High School (Ohio), located in Oakwood, Ohio. In 2018, he graduated with an honors diploma, along with many records in Track & Field. He is known to be both an excellent athlete and a scholar, and is currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah (as of 2/2020).

Pole Vault[edit]

In 2018, he broke the school's pole vault record, which stood since 2015.[1] He beat out Jack Huang, who in 2015 got the record with a vault of 12'0"[2] Jake vaulted to 14'6"[1] and took home 2nd place at state.

High Jump[edit]

In addition to pole vault, Jake broke the school high jump record in 2018 with a jump of 6'4". This smashed the previous record of 6'3", which was won by a jump from Charlie Haverland.[2]

Academics[edit]

Jake is known to be a rigorous student. He is an honors student and he made the High Honor roll every single quarter while a student at Oakwood[3]

Mountain Biking[edit]

Jake is an exceptional mountain biker. In 2017, he won first place at the MVMBA in the class of "High School Boys"[4]

110 and 100 meter hurdles[edit]

Jake was excellent at both the 110 and 100 meter hurdles. In 2016, Jake broke the school record for 100 meter hurdles (33") with a time of 17.50 seconds.[2] In 2017, Jake achieved second for the school record in the 110 meter hurdles (39") with a time of 16.33 seconds.[2]
