James Allen Worthy, known by the name James Artissen, is an American singer, songwriter, music producer, and audio engineer. He has worked with artists such as: Meek Mill, Goodie Mob, 112, Justin Bieber, and Fetty Wap.

Early life

James Artissen was born on March 28, 1992 in Queens, New York , and is one of two siblings. He began singing, songwriting, and studying musicians as a young child maneuvering the city. Worthy was inspired to become a prominent music figure by following great singers, and music producers throughout different styles of music he heard in his household. He attended Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Georgia until the 12th grade. He later found a big interest in music production which increased his creativity, and confidence to create full songs to demo for other artists. Along his journey he acquired mentors like Whitney Houston, and John Ecstasy Fletcher to help guide him through the industry.

Life & Career

James Artissen is a Grammy Nominated singer, songwriter, record producer, and audio engineer.  He has cited his influences as Michael Jackson, A Tribe Called Quest, Kanye West, and Pharrell throughout his career. In 2017 he joined the duo group Kings X2 which consisted of himself, and latin rapper International Nova. The group released their single "Wine For Me" which charted the US Hot Singles Sales chart at #10 for 5 weeks. The group later disbanded, and Worthy began his solo artist career in 2018, and has released four studio EP's. His genres have been generally classified as R&B, Hip hop, and House Music. He has also appeared on several different television broadcasts including From the Bottom Up, and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. James was nominated for a Grammy for his work on the single Dangerous by Meek Mill.

Blu Leisure, his debut EP was released, and distributed by The Orchard in 2019. The EP included guest appearances from Tony Terry, Sonna Rele, Kalenna Harper, and Whodini.

Kaleidoscopes, Worthy's sophomore EP was released, and distributed by The Orchard in 2020.  The EP included guest appearances from Ray Lavender, Ruff Endz, Drag-On, and Truth Hurts.

In 2023, Worthy released his collaborative EP Gipp N Worthy with rapper Big Gipp. The project received favorable reviews, and charted the iTunes R&B/Soul chart at the #9 position. The single "TOTW" from the EP also charted the Billboard R&B Digital Sales chart at the #91 position.
