James Hong is a Taiwanese scientist, entrepeneur, and university lecturer. He is the founder of Verismo Health which manages and operates 62 primary care locations in Ontario, and a co-founder of Verismo Apps which innovates in the domain of AI-based mobile and web programming for healthcare.
As a scientist, James has published over 38 peer-reviewed works in the field of neuroscience, with a focus on spinal cord injury. His thesis examined the anatomical differences between the cervical and thoracic spine and how these differences dictate the injury trajectory post-injury. He continues working on therapeutic strategies to improve recovery following spinal cord injury focusing on microglial and astroglial signaling pathways using transgenic approaches. He currently lectures in the department of human biology at the University of Toronto.
