James Ladyman

Professor James Ladyman is a philosopher of science at the University of Bristol. He is famous for his 1998 distinction between Ontic Structural Realism and Epistemic Structural realism, and he defends the former.[1]

He has previously served as co-editor (with Professor Alexander Bird) of The British Journal for the Philosophy of Science and as Honorary Secretary of The British Society for the Philosophy of Science (2003–2007).[2]

Biography[edit]

Ladyman received a B.A. from the University of York and a PhD from the University of Leeds.[3]
