Jamia Mosque and Islamic Society of Darlington
The Jamia Mosque and Islamic Society of Darlington is a local community mosque located in the North Lodge Terrace area of the town of Darlington in County Durham, England. The organisation was constituted as a charity under UK law in 1982.[1] The mosque offers worship facilities, as well as Islamic Education, and has its own telecommunications mast for calls to prayer.[2]

In 2011, the mosque was the target of an anti-Islamic protest by the far-right English Defence League group. Three protesters were arrested by Durham Police for public disorder offences.[3][4] The mosque also suffered fire damage after a firework was put through the letterbox in October 2012.[5]
