Jamie MacDougall is a Scottish singer tenor and presenter for BBC Radio Scotland's Classics Unwrapped.[1]

Background

MacDougall was born in Glasgow and was a scholarship recipient at both the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland formally known as the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) and Guildhall School of Music, London.[2] MacDougall was also a finalist at the prestigious Kathleen Ferrier Singing Competition.[2]

Recordings

MacDougall's recordings range from Baroque to Classical, German, Scottish and English Song.[3][2][1] In 2009 he released the complete Haydn Folk Song Arrangements with the Haydn Trio Eisenstadt and Soprano Lorna Anderson.[1][4][5]

Performances

MacDougall made his television debut in 2003 presenting and singing at the BBC Proms in the Park Glasgow, accompanied by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.[1] Operatic roles include Odoardo in Handel's Ariodante, Peter Quint in Britten's The Turn of the Screw, First Shepherd and Apollo in Monteverdi's Orfeo.[2][5] He has collaborated with some of the world's finest orchestras including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, The Scottish Chamber Orchestra, London Mozart Players, The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Belgian Radio Orchestra, Gulbenkian Orchestra, the St Louis Symphony Orchestra, Houston Symphony and Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.[1][2]
