Jammerhead, also called Jammer in his IDW comic incarnation, is a supervillain in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. He is the leader of a violent criminal gang known as the "Street Phantoms," and is known for powers related to cybernetic implants in his modified human brain.
Television[edit]
2003 animated series[edit]
Jammerhead first appears in Fox's 4Kids animated adaptation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. When a technological mishap flings the turtles one hundred years into the future into the year 2105, they meet a whole new set of villains; Jammerhead and the Phantoms become a regular part of this rogue's gallery.
In fact, the Street Phantoms are the first villains encountered by the turtles in 2105[1]. Upon arrival in the future, a disoriented and suffocating in a foreign atmosphere, Michelangelo is kidnapped by the Phantoms with intent to traffic him as a slave.

IDW Publishing[edit]
Jammerhead ("Jammer" in IDW) and the Street Phantoms were first adapted in media outside of the 2003 animated series in the pages of In the IDW run of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle comics[2]. Instead of appearing as a villain in the far-flung future, the IDW's Jammer is portrayed as contemporaneous to the turtles' base timeline. Though existing 100 years earlier than the original version of the character, Jammer retains many of his futuristic technology and capabilities - most notably the phantom cloak which allows him to phase through matter. Jammer's Phantoms in the IDW Universe operate as an independent street gang, but they contract to other prominent villains in the story to achieve special missions. Essentially, Jammer leads a gang of high-tech mercenaries for hire.
Personality[edit]
Jammerhead has a chaotic and sociopathic thrill-seeking personality. He takes great pleasure in destruction and in the suffering of others. To him violence is playful mischief. Aside from seeking thrills, his actions are largely motivated by the pursuit of personal gain.
Toys and Other Merchandise[edit]
Playmates released an action figure version of Jammerhead in their 2005 line with the first wave of Ninja Turtles: Fast Forward toys[3]
