Jan Johns is an American voice actor, actor, singer, and puppeteer. She has performed voice roles across animation and video games, including work for Disney productions and the Fallout video game franchise. Johns is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, and has been featured by the university for her professional career in voice performance.[1][2]
Early life and education
Johns studied musical theatre at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she received a Theatre Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) scholarship through the Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies.[1] [2]
Career
Animation
Johns has voiced characters in numerous animated television series. In Disney Junior's Mickey Mouse Funhouse, she voices recurring characters including Farfus the dragon and Chip, as well as a variety of creature and side characters. She has also appeared in other children's programming such as The Loud House, The Casagrandes, and SuperKitties.[3] She voiced Rollyfluffs in Haunted Hotel (Netflix) and also appeared in Charlotte's Web.
Video games
Johns is best known for her work in Bethesda's Fallout franchise, voicing characters across Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76 and its expansions.[4] She has also voiced characters in games such as Starfield, World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Diablo IV, and Valorant.[3]
Creature and character voice work
In addition to standard roles, Johns is known for her expressive creature voice work, including the voice of the female Predator in Predator: Hunting Grounds.[3]
Awards and recognition
Johns received a nomination from the Game Audio Network Guild (GANG) Awards for her voice performance as Kayah in The Last Light, produced by Magic Leap Studios.[5] Johns has been featured in national media discussing her work in voice acting, including an interview with National Public Radio about adapting home recording studios during the COVID-19 pandemic.[6] Her video game work has also been noted by British media, including coverage by Radio Times discussing the voice cast of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.[7]
