Janet Zand

Janet Zand is a licensed acupuncturist and Diplomate of Chinese herbology,[1] Diplomate of Acupuncture,[2] and a Doctor of Oriental Medicine with over 30 years of private practice experience.

Zand has published several books including A Parent's Guide to Medical Emergencies, Smart Medicine for Healthier Living, The Nitric Oxide Solution, and Smart Medicine for a Healthier Child.[3] From 1984 to 1998, she was part of a private practice in Santa Monica, California specializing in natural and functional medicine, traditional Chinese Medicine, homeopathy, lifestyle, and nutrition. From 1984-2002, Zand was the Chairman of the Board, co-founder, and formulator for Zand Herbal Formulas, and introduced Insure Herbal, the first popular consumer echinacea/goldenseal herbal combination,.[4] In addition, Zand Herbals introduced Active Herbal in 1984, the first purely herbal energy dietary supplement without caffeine widely used by Olympic and professional athletes.[5]

She lectures throughout the country to physicians, acupuncturists, naturopaths, chiropractors, nurses and other health-care professionals on natural medicine including Traditional Chinese Medicine, nutrition and homeopathy. She still practices natural medicine and has contributed as a presenter at the Pacific Symposium.[6]

Zand is now a contributing doctor for Neogenis Labs.[7] She is a natural medical advisor for Sonima Wellness Center[8] in Encinitas, California.

Zand is the co-inventor of NEO 40,[9] a natural supplement shown to reduce triglycerides and help lower blood pressure. She is the principal formulator of Systeme 41 products,[10] an all–natural skin care line started in 2010. Zand was inducted into NewHope360's Hall of Legends in 2015.[11]

In July 2015, Janet Zand became the Editor of Women's Health Letter, a widely read alternative medicine letter.
