Janet Zuccarini
Janet Zuccarini is a restauranteur based in Toronto.[1]. She is the owner and chief executive officer of the restaurant group Gusto 54[2] and is a resident judge on Food Network Canada’s Top Chef Canada.[3]
Career[edit]
In 1996, Zuccarini opened Café Nervosa in Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood.[4] She also owns seven additional Toronto-based culinary concepts including: Gusto 101, Chubby's Jamaican Kitchen, Gusto 54 Catering, Gusto 54 Commissary Kitchen, Pai Northern Thai Kitchen, Kiin, and Same-Same[5]. Zuccarini opened her first Los Angeles-based restaurant Felix Trattoria in 2017 which was lauded as "Best New Restaurant" by Esquire Magazine (2017)[6], "Restaurant of the Year" by Eater LA (2017)[7], and was a James Beard Foundation Award finalist[8].
In 2017, Janet won the Foodservice & Hospitality’s Pinnacle Award for “Independent Restaurateur of the Year”[9] and received the “TEC Canada Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship” from the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards.[10][11]
