Modeling[edit]

In 1986, Cruz Brooks was featured in The Starship's music video We Built This City, which received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group in 1986[10][not in citation given] and also was ranked by Blender Magazine(now defunct) as the "worst record ever" made[11]

Cruz Brooks was signed to now defunct Mitchell Management based in San Francisco from 1992–1997[citation needed] where she worked in commercial print and runway (Macy's, Ulta, Old Navy. etc.). From 1998–2000 Cruz Brooks was signed to Click Boston[citation needed] in their commercial division. In 2001, thinking she was done with modeling, Cruz Brooks was stopped on the train and recruited by a fellow model to the Click Model Management Plus Division in New York City[citation needed] where she worked in TV commercials (Crystal Light), commercial print (Target, Latina, Marie Claire, Shape, Goody's, etc.) and walked in several runway shows (Target, Goody's, Bloomingdale's, J.Lo by Jennifer Lopez, etc.).[citation needed] She remained signed to Click from 2001–2013 (when they shut down the New York City Plus Division). She is now currently a freelance fit model for brands such as Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, Wacoal, Playtex, Champion, Bali, Maidenform, Just My Size, Barely There, Vanity Fair & Curvation.[citation needed]
