Janine Gladfelter is a member of the Gresham City Council. She was appointed by Council to this vacant seat on Jan. 24, 2017, and was elected to the position on Nov. 7, 2018. Her current four-year term runs through Dec. 31, 2022.[1]

Early Life and Education[edit]

Janine was born on May 27th, 1966. She graduated from Gold Beach HighSchool in Gold Beach Oregon. Lane Community College, and the University of Oregon.[2]

Career[edit]

Janine's first job was waiting tables at her family's Italian restaurant. Today she is the manager of the Gresham U.S. Bank branch. She is a member of the City's Finance Committee and served on the Community Development and Housing Subcommittee.[3]

Prior Governmental Experience[edit]

Gresham Redevelopment Commissioner 2017-present; Gresham Budget Committee 2014-present; Finance Committee 2014-2017; Community Development Block Grant Committee 2014-2017; Council Leadership to Emergency Preparedness Task Force and Task Force on Housing[4]. In 2020 When Gresham Mayor, Shane Bemis, abruptly resigned[5], Janine Gladfelter was appointed acting mayor[6].

Gresham City Council[edit]

Janine was appointed by Council to this vacant seat on Jan. 24, 2017[7], and was elected to the position on Nov. 7, 2018.[8] councilor Gladfelter's primary committee assignments include Finance Committee and the Community Development and Housing Subcommittee. She alternately supports the Historic Resources Subcommittee.[9]

2022 Gresham City Council Reelection Campaign[edit]

Janine is currently running for reelection on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022. She is an incumbent running for Gresham City Council Position N0.6 against Amanda Orozco-Beach.[10] Janine launched her reelection website on August 29th, 2022.[11]
