Janus Rasmussen is a musician and producer, who grew up in the remote Faroe Islands. Since his early childhood, he began making music and being fascinated by electronic sounds.[1] Today, he lives in Reykjavik and tours across the globe.

Life

Being inspired by records, he studied and determined his preferred genres of electronics.[1] Not only records but also playing the guitar introduced him to joining different bands as a singer and guitarist. Through constant music-making, Rasmussen crafted his own sound and style through electronic music.[2]

Discography

Since 2009, Rasmussen worked alongside acclaimed pianist and producer, Ólafur Arnalds in Reykjavik. Rasmussen and Arnalds perform as KIASMOS and took part in festivals such as Primavera Sound (2016), Montreux Jazz Festival (2016), Lowlands (2018) and Tomorrowland (2018).[3]

In 2012, Rasmussen and Arnalds released their first extended piece, Thrown. Other musical projects Rasmussen joined include the electro-pop outfit Bloodgroup, as well as collaborations with Guðrið Hansdóttir and the band BYRTA.[4]
