Jason Adam Sheets (born 1982) is an American poet. He is the author of the poetry collections A Madness of Blue Obsidian and The Hour Wasp[1], and is co-author of Theopoetica: A Micro-Anthology.

Background and Education[edit]

Jason Adam Sheets was born in Lexington, Kentucky and raised in Plymouth, Massachusetts. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Goddard College and a Master of Theological Studies degree from Harvard University. He is an English Instructor and MFA student in poetry at University of New Hampshire.

Works and Awards[edit]

Jason Adam Sheets is the author of A Madness of Blue Obsidian (April Gloaming Publishing, 2022) and The Hour Wasp (April Gloaming Publishing, 2017), and co-author of Theopoetica: A Micro-Anthology (April Gloaming Publishing, 2021). His poems have appeared in numerous journals and magazines and have been featured by The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities[2] and The Graduate Journal of Harvard Divinity School[3]. His poem, "[blue haunts black & i know you when]," won the 2016 Poetry Society of New Hampshire Poetry Prize. He has taught in Harvard's Poetry in America for High Schools Program and has worked as a poetry mentor for the Association of Writers & Writing Programs. His work has been supported by Harvard University, PEN America, and Poets & Writers.
