Career
Jason Beckman is a respected entrepreneur, philanthropist, and business leader. He lives in New York City and is known throughout the Northeast for his accomplishments and leadership. For his college education, Beckman attended Union College. While he was there, he had an idea to improve the online education experience for students. He founded CollegetownUSA.com, which was a resource for students across the country. Later, the entity was branded iCollege, and Blackboard acquired it before it went public.
During his professional career, one of Beckman's notable roles was with Goldman Sachs. He built, motivated, and supervised a sourcing group that focused on strategic lending activities. His team consisted of 10 professionals. Also, they worked on loan workout acquisitions for both portfolio divestitures and single-asset divestitures. Beckman went to work for Deutsche Bank after that chapter of his life. While he was there, he took an executive role in the Distressed Debt Group.
In 2009, Beckman co-founded Colbeck, which is a capital management firm. Beckman is a managing partner and the senior investment sourcing partner of the company. His responsibilities include overseeing the sourcing of loans and the origination of investments. One of his key responsibilities is ensuring the success of investment execution. Additionally, he works hard to establish and perpetuate good relationships with co-investors. Beckman also builds strategies to establish good relationships with broader capital markets.
