Butcher later moved into the payments industry.
He served as Chief Operating Officer and subsequently chief executive officer of CoinPayments, a cryptocurrency payment processor. He has also been associated with Parallel Payments, a payment infrastructure company focused on regulated financial services.[2]

Butcher is the founder of Orbit Capital, an investment and advisory firm supporting early-stage technology companies.
