Jason DeStefano (born November 20, 1974) is an American filmmaker, writer, actor, and entrepreneur who lives in the New York City metro area. Jason currently works as a producer, screenwriter, and director for Divinity Digital Development, LLC, and is also the CEO and lead developer of the OTT video streaming channel "DDD Television" (also dba "DDD Entertainment").[1]
Career[edit]
From a very early age, Jason was fascinated by movies, filmmaking, and Hollywood culture. However, he chose not to pursue formal filmmaking studies after high school because of his strong aptitude for science, mathematics, and computer programming. While Jason spent most of his early adult life working in computer programming and IT, he also managed to continuously explore screenwriting, filmmaking, and video and sound production as side pursuits in hopes of someday starting a business and making a career transition.
Jason’s first experiences with moviemaking began at the age of 12, when he bought his first video camera with money he had saved from mowing lawns over the summer. It was then that he began writing short movie scripts and making home movies with his family and friends for fun. As technology emerged over the years and his interest in moviemaking continued, he gained skills and experience in areas such as digital video editing, cinematography, special effects production, animation, and sound production. However, his primary interests were always writing and directing. He wrote a number of feature length screenplays over the years, with plans to start an independent production company and self produce them. Due to various circumstances of his personal life, his official production pursuits were postponed until 2017, when two of his new feature film concepts went into development. Jason has since written and produced a number of feature length films, shorts, and series.
After being inspired by a trip to Hollywood that he and his wife Analyn took in 2018, Jason began taking on small acting roles in various movie and television productions being filmed in the New York City area. After the first few shoots, he decided that he wanted to begin transitioning into a more serious acting career in parallel to his filmmaking pursuits.
Jason began working as a producer for Divinity Digital Development, LLC [2] in 2019, where he has conceived, discovered, and overseen the development and production of a number of movies, TV series, and web series.
