Career

Businesses

Mace set up the business Gala Tent Ltd in 1999 making marquees affordable to buy rather than hire through innovative design and mass production. Also recognised for transforming the way market traders and towns operate[3][4] by introducing a commercial pop up gazebo to replace the old fashioned traditional box sections frames. The design offered printing and branding to change the look of the market stall appearance in the United Kingdom and Europe.[5] Gala Tent have also developed a Secure Order Transfer payment system for telephone transactions which won the 2014 UK IT Award, the awards dinner took place 12th November at the Battersea Park Events Arena in London.[6][7]

Charity and community projects

Mace was invited to the House of Lords 19th May 2014 by Lord Borwick of Hawkshead due to his involvement with Rotherham Ready[8] and Rotherham Youth Enterprise,[9] as well as with local schools and colleges including the Peter Jones Academy at Sheffield College. Jason presented his ideas to several influential people, including many of the UK's leading entrepreneurs, for a National Entrepreneurial Service[10] for two years after they leave school, along with ideas and systems of how to bring down unemployment. Mace is currently working on a new international project with the Peter Jones[11][12][13] foundation to mentor students' product development, helping the next generation reach their potential.
