Jason Robo is a former college activist turned stand-up comedian, radio DJ on KMUD, and trivia host. Robo is a former college activist from his days at Humboldt State University where he held multiple positions in the HSU chapters of NORML, 911 Truth, and student government. His activism earned regularly local press coverage, most notably peaking in national news for a free speech act that prevented the takeoff of Delta Flight 1165 in July 2008. He also is the creator and former host of an Access Humboldt TV program "Unstacking the Deck", formerly a radio show on KRFH-LP during his college days.[1]

Robo was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. He grew up with his father in the United States Navy Band in Virginia Beach, Virginia.[2]
Education & Activism[edit]
Jason Robo began higher education getting his AA from San Diego Miramar College in 2006 and then transferred to Humboldt State University in Arcata, California.[3] On March 15th, 2007, as an external affairs representative for HSU's Associated Students Robo confronted the California State Water Resources Control Board to support removal of PacifiCorp dams on the Klamath River.[4] Robo authored a resolution supporting dam removal.[5] Robo became the Legislative Vice President of HSU's Associated Students and was later impeached.[6]

Stand-up comedy[edit]
Robo's started stand-up in 2012 at Big Pete's Pizzeria in Arcata, California.[7] His influences include "Bill Hicks, George Carlin, Lenny Bruce and Lewis Black.[8]
Radio & TV Host[edit]
Robo began DJing at Humboldt State University on the student station KRFH-LP Fall 2008 through Spring 2009.[9] One program, Unstacking the Deck, featured Robo's radical perspectives on current events. The show also included interviews with authors and activists such as Derrick Jensen.[10] The show later evolved to a TV show on Access Humboldt.[11][12] The TV version of Unstacking the Deck also featured guests most notable being the founder of Move to Amend and Green Party presidential candidate for the 2004 election, David Cobb.[13]. In 2015 Robo began "Comedy for a Change" on KMUD.[14] The show features thought-provoking professional comedians stand-up specials or original mixes of some comics material. Robo's "Strictly Revolutionary Comedy Mixes" are featured on a playlist on his YouTube.[15]
Trivia Hosting[edit]
Robo hosts trivia night at The Logger Bar in Blue Lake, California[16] and Papa Wheelies in McKinleyville, California.[17] Question are based on current events, seasons, and commemorative dates. Some challenges are audio (songs, sounds, comedians), or visual (TV/movie scenes, images).
Delta Flight 1165[edit]
On July 30th, 2008, at 5 p.m. Robo boarded Delta Air Lines Flight 1165 at Boston's Logan International Airport bound for Salt Lake City.[18] After stickers were found on the plane reading “9/11 was an Inside Job! PrisonPlanet.com” the flight was delayed. More stickers were found in the terminal on a pay phone. Robo was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and disorderly conduct on a public conveyance. The incident was reported nationally. Mention of Alex Jones and the website prisonplanet.com was later removed from the online version of the story on The Boston Globe's website.[19] On Sunday, August 3rd, 2008, Jones had Robo on as a guest to tell his side of the story.[20] The charges were eventually dismissed.
