Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani
Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani (born 1982) is a Qatari banker and son of former Prime Minister Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani.[1]
In February 2023, he made a bid for Manchester United F.C..[2]
Early life and education[edit]
Sheikh Jassim was born in 1982.[3] He is the son of former Prime Minister Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani.[4]
He was educated at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.[5][6]
Career[edit]
In 2006, Sheikh Jassim was appointed as Chairman of Qatar Islamic Bank QIB.[7] He was previously on the board of Credit Suisse.[1][8]
Purportedly a lifelong supporter of Manchester United F.C., in February 2023 he placed a bid to purchase 100% of the club.[9]
Sheikh Jassim's bid of $5.4 billion put him ahead of rivals Jim Ratcliffe and Thomas Zilliacus.[10][11]
