The 7R01, also called JR710E/JR711E (Jatco), RE7R01A/RE7R01A (Nissan), is a seven-speed automatic transmission from Jatco for passenger cars with longitudinally mounted engine (rear wheel drive or 4X4 layout), released in 2008..[1]
Abstract[edit]
The 7R01 series are made in two versions, the JR710E and the heavier duty JR711E.[2]
Have a 7% of fuel economy in comparison with its predecessor (5R05).[2]
Was designed using as base the 5R05[3], and share a few components with it[1]
Although Nissan and Infiniti have used the Mercedes-Benz 7G-Tronic transmission in some of their vehicles too, the 7R01 is a totally different design and is unrelated with that transmission.

Main design[edit]
Provide seven forward gears (four reduction, direct and two overdrives) plus reverse through its thirteen main components (4 simple planetary gear sets, 3 multiple-disc clutches, 4 multiple-disc brakes and 2 one-way clutches).[4]
Control[edit]
It is a fully electronic controlled unit.[4]
Torque converter is in full lock up state in normal condition (Drive mode) only in 7th gear, or could in all 7 forward gears if Manual mode is selected, depending of TCM and driver's way of driving. This unit also have a half-clutched state, that can occur from 2nd to 7th gears, Drive or Manual mode.[4]
Strenght[edit]
JR710E is capable to handle up to 400 N⋅m (295 lb⋅ft) of torque and JR711E up to 600 N⋅m (443 lb⋅ft).[5]
ATF[edit]
Its OEM ATF is the Genuine NISSAN Matic S ATF.[4]
