Java Institute for Advanced Technology (Before 2010: The Institute of Java and Technological Studies) is a private IT institute in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is a ISO 9001:2008 Certified Institute.

History[edit]

The Java Institute for Advanced Technology was founded in 2005.[citation needed] It provides both academic and professional qualifications pertaining to Software Engineering.

Education Programs[edit]

From the very beginning of the institute, they offered a program named Professional Certificate in Java Technology (known as PCJT) which lead for software engineer profession. From 2013, Institute conducts training programs related to Management and Psychology.

Research Centers[edit]

Java Institute operates three research centers in Sri Lanka.[citation needed] These research centers are focused on developments in the fields of Robotics, Software Engineering, and Neuroscience. Java Robotics and Intelligence Research Center (JRIRC), which primarily handles robotics and artificial intelligence endeavors. Web Technology and Software Engineering Research Center (WTRC), which is continuously engaged in technological advancements in the field of Software Engineering. Brain Technology and Neuroscience Research Center (BTNRC), which focuses on researches in the fields of Brain Technology, Neuroscience, Psychology, Parapsychology, Sociology, and Human and Life Sciences.

Quality Framework[edit]

The Java Institute for Advanced Technology was awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certification by the International Organisation for Standardization.[citation needed] In 2014 it was awarded Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Centre Approval Status.[1]
