Javeria Siddique is a Pakistani journalist, columnist and photographer.[1] She is the first female aviation photographer of Pakistan. She regularly writes on various topics highlighting socio-economic issues[2] and political state in particular. She also writes on defense deals, aviation, and military equipment. She is an author of two books: Kawish e Islah (storybook for children) and Saniha Army Public School Peshawar 2014[3] respectively. (First Book on APS Incident 2014).

Early life[edit]

She was born in Karachi, Pakistan in 1989. Her husband was renowned journalist, writer Arshad Sharif.[4]

She completed early education in Karachi and in Muree. Later on, her family shifted to Islamabad. She completed her bachelor's degree and master's degree from leading institutions of Islamabad. She started writing in a children's magazine in her teens. She had been a vibrant part of debating club throughout her childhood. She was selected twice for President of Literary society of high school. In the same year, she won 3rd prize all Pakistan Art Competition (in Pakistan science foundation). In 2000, she won a debate competition in Pakistan Broadcasting corporation and in Girls Guide Association. In 2000, her painting was selected in an International Art Exhibition, it was 1st World Children Art exhibition on2000 organized by UNICEF.[5]

Journalism[edit]

In Daily Jang as a columnist, she covered health environment social issues and politics (November 2013 - December 2016).[6] She joined Urdu Service of Turkish Radio and Television in 2016, the state television service of Turkey.[7]

She contributed for Urdu news and Samaa for a while writing popular blogs. In 2020 she joined Dunya Newspaper as their regular columnist. In 2021 she joined Independent Urdu as contributor writer.[8]

Career as Photographer[edit]

By hobby, she is an avid photographer. For continuation of her hobby, she has done some professional courses. Her focus is: Aviation, Landscape, Moon and Flowers. She has won multiple awards in photography.[9]
