Jason Hunter is an American actor best known for portraying the role of Ian Glenn in the Tyler Perry television series If Loving You Is Wrong and co starring in the 2018 Lionsgate film Acrimony.

Early life[edit]

Hunter was born in Buffalo, New York.[1] He is the second child among five siblings. [2] Hunter was a standout player on his college football team at Westminster College, PA., earning several achievements, including All-Conference three years in a row. [3] During his senior year, Hunter tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL, ending his college football career. [4] Hunter would graduate, earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. [5] Jay would eventually join the Pensacola Barracudas [6] and Rochester Brigade [7] arena football teams. After retiring from football, Jay taught high school English and history in the Los Angeles School District. [8]

Acting[edit]

Hunter began his acting career with a role in the 2003 ESPN scripted football television series “Play makers”.[9] Jay has since appeared in the motion pictures “Four Brothers”, “Max Payne”, and “The Incredible Hulk” and on the television shows “Nikita”, “NCIS: Los Angeles”, “The Goldbergs”, and Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” [10]

In 2017, Hunter landed a starring role in the OWN original television series, “Tyler Perry’s If Loving You Is Wrong” as Ian Glenn.[11] In 2018, Jay partnered with Tyler Perry again for the motion picture thriller “Acrimony”, staring Taraji P. Henson. [12] Hunter will soon appear in the indie film “Conundrum: Secrets Among Friends”. [13]
