From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

William Jayson Waller (born December 5, 1979) is an American businessperson, founder, and Chief Executive Officer of now defunct Power Home Solar LLC (dba Pink Energy, formerly known as, Rescomm) a solar panel installation company founded in 2014.[1] and based in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Name: Jayson Waller Nationality: American (United States) Occupation: Businessperson Founder: Power Home Solar LLC Highest Education: 10th Grade

Early Life & Education

Jayson Waller describes his early life as difficult. Being raised in less than preferable living conditions, unable to graduate high school (not continuing beyond grade ten), and becoming a parent in his teenage years. However, Waller cites his entrepreneurial drive as his way out and up to a self-proclaimed mogul.[2]

Prior to founding of Power Home Solar LLC/Pink Energy, Waller worked sales jobs with AT&T and Verizon. However, after not feeling fulfilled, Waller decided to create his own companies.

Career and Controversy

In 2006, Jayson Waller founded Rescomm, a solar energy and roofing company, and in 2014, rebranded to Power Home Solar LLC, and then rebranded again to Pink Energy in 2022, which provides solar panel and energy installation services[3]

At its inception, Waller's newly rebranded solar company saw much success. The company scaled quickly in both physical size and revenue[4]. However, the company soon began to receive complaints from its customers, eventually losing its previously claimed "A+" Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating (currently, the BBB lists the company as "...not accredited.") Additionally, the BBB warns of repetitive patterns of complaints from customers. Customers rapidly began to accuse Waller and his company of deploying deceptive sales practices, not fulfilling service promises, violating contracts, having non-existent customer service, racism perpetuated by salespeople[5], and predatory lending, among other complaints[6]

As a result of the increasing complaints and other unknown internal company issues, on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, Waller and the company filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy[7] with the Western District of North Carolina (Power Home Solar, LLC, Case No. 22-50228[8].) As such, the company's creditors, (most of whom are customers) began to file with bankruptcy court(s) and U.S. state/federal agencies.) On November 16, 2022, Waller and other associates of the company, appeared in Chapter 7 Bankruptcy court held at the Charles R. Jonas Federal Courthouse[8]. In this hearing, presided over by a mediator, Waller (and associates) was questioned by creditors, most of whom were customers[9]

However, a recent court docket was filed November 13, 2022 listed as: Hall et al v. Trivest Partners L.P. et al, whereas William "Jayson Waller" is listed as a defendant and the nature of the suit and cause of action is: racketeer/corrupt organization/18 U.S.C. §1962 Racketeering (RICO) Act.

Waller's fight against Generac Power Systems Inc.

In response to the company's downfall, Waller placed part of the blame on Generac, an energy company that provides some parts for Waller's solar company. On August 1st, 2022, Waller and the company filed a lawsuit against Generac Power Systems in a U.S. District Court in Virginia. Waller and the company's lawyers claim that Generac caused "ongoing financial damage and extraordinary harm to its business reputation." The company also alleges that "Generac supplied faulty equipment that caused fires on the roofs of a few of its customers and hundreds of system failures in others' homes." Waller and the company claim that "faults were present in the design of Generac's system for rapid shutdown of solar panel output in the event of a system failure[10]."

However, Generac contests the claims: "Over the past few weeks, [Generac] already contracted with high-quality third-party providers to perform warranty services on Generac’s products, now that Pink Energy (Power Home Solar LLC) will no longer be providing this service to its customers...[w]e understand that consumers are frustrated with Pink Energy. However, Generac remains committed to our customers." Additionally, the Director of Marketing and Communications & Public Relations at Generac Power Systems Inc stated, "By [Power Home Solar's] inflammatory public statements and the lawsuit, we believe Pink Energy may be hoping to distract customers from the many complaints and allegations that reportedly have been leveled against them regarding poor installation and service, as well as public accounts of dubious marketing claims and sales tactics[11].”
