Jean-Claude Rodet (born 1944 in Saint-Vérand, Rhône) is a French-speaking Canadian author, naturopath, trainer and consultant in nutrition. He has a doctorate of agronomic sciences (1977) and an honorary doctorate in natural medicine (2000).[C 1] He is a holistic health practitioner[C 2]
Biography[edit]
- 1963 : JCR was among the founders of the conscientious objector status at the time of the Algerian War.[A 1] As a nonviolent activist, he fought with Lanza del Vasto, Abbé Pierre, Jean Rostand... : Rodet spent two years of conscription as firefighter in Brignoles.
- 1973 : he launched the first weekly organic market in Grézieu-la-Varenne.[B 1]
- 1974 : Jean-Claude Rodet founded a community called Le Soly[A 2] in Thurins France.
- 2002 : Rodet's 20 volumes about nutritherapy were used in l'assiette vitalité, a universal nutrition guide by the French National Ligue Against Cancer and Advanced Research For the Anti-Age Foundation in Canada.[C 3]
- 2008 : Rodet transformed IIRHB into the Institute of Natural Medicine School Institut de Santé Naturelle (ISN) in Montreal with Francine Fleury.[1]
- 2010 : Kiné-Concept institute (IKC) specialized in massage takes over the Institut de Santé Naturelle.[2]
Rodet is the dean of academy for foreign affiliations[B 2] to the University of Natural Medicine (Santa Fe) since 2000. And since 2002, he is a member of the International Organic Inspectors Association.[B 3] Rodet has written l'assiette vitalité to preserve life through Anti-aging. Within the Institut International de Ressources Écologiques (IIRE) he gathered a 10,800-book library about ecology and natural medicine.[B 4]
As a traditional Chinese medicine trainer, he states that a physician should be paid only by his healthy patients and according to his successful preventive medicine practice.
In 2004, Rodet acknowledged guilt relating to charges that he had misrepresented himself as an agronomist (in French, usurpation du titre d'agronome). The Ordre des agronomes du Québec (Order of Agronomists of Québec, OAQ) found that Rodet and imposed a fine of $600. In its judgment, the OAQ noted that it had, in 1990, refused to recognize diplomas Rodet had obtained outside Canada.[3]
