Biography[edit]

Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott is a British actress best known for playing Sadie in the British crime thriller Nemesis. She is also one of the founders of production company Shogun Films.

She was born Jeanine Nerissa Mangar in Chelsea to a Harley Street Orthopaedic Surgeon father and a nurse mother. In her teens she was a member of the Kingston Youth Orchestra, playing the piano as well as first violin.

After a career in accountancy in the City of London, Sothcott returned to the arts in her 40s appearing in dozens of theatre productions and short films. On September 12th 2020, she married Jonathan Sothcott in Mayfair, London [1][2]

Sothcott starred opposite Shane taylor and Rula Lenska in The Exorcism of Karen Walker (aka Aura) for writer/director Steve Lawson which was released by Sony in the USA.[3] She also appeared in The Krays: Dead Man Walking opposite EastEnders icon Leslie Grantham in his final film role.[4]

She founded Shogun Films with Jonathan Sothcott at the beginning of 2020 and the company quickly won awards and acclaim during the COVID-19 pandemic.[5]

Sothcott stared opposite Murray and Moran in Nemesis, winning widespread critical acclaim. Roger Crow of On Magazine commented, "Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott gives a brave, at times jaw-dripping performance as the photogenic matriarch Sadie, who will do anything to protect her family"[6], while Screen One said, “Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott as Morgan’s long suffering wife Sadie, puts in a really ballsy performance and handles the more physical scenes with relative ease.”[7]

Sothcott most recently starred in Renegades with Lee Majors and Patsy Kensit.
