Jeff Bolton is an American producer, writer and former talk radio personality. He previously hosted daily talk shows at WOAI (AM) in San Antonio, KLIF (AM) in Dallas[1] and KFAB in Omaha, Nebraska.[2] He began producing military focused documentaries in 2004 and has written for Popular Mechanics,[3][4] Autoweek,[5][5] Air Forces Monthly,[6] and Key Aero Publishing.[7]

Career

In October of 2003, Bolton broadcast talk radio programs from Iraq and Afghanistan for KFAB, traveling to Kabul to interview Nebraska injured soldier Col. Tom Brewer (politician), who had been shot multiple times in a combat engagement a few days prior. Brewer was awarded the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts from what would later be dubbed the "Battle of the Bone Yard."[8] [8][9] Bolton and Brewer have maintained an ongoing friendship, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro together in 2021 with four additional members of the Nebraska Legislature.[10]

B-2 Stealth Bomber Access

In 2018, Bolton became the first civilian journalist allowed to fly and film from inside the Northrop B-2 Spirit, "B-2 Stealth Bomber," while in pre-production for a television documentary series on the U.S. nuclear deterrence mission or Nuclear triad. News reports and video footage from inside the cockpit during the flight became public the following spring.[11][12] Bolton's B-2 bomber access was covered by aviation outlets and made him an ongoing source for news analysis on a range military aviation topics. His access and filming has been featured in outlets, such as, Defense News,[13] Business Insider,[14] and the BBC. [15]

In 2023, the Nebraska Legislature approved a grant for the production of a docuseries titled THE WATCH: America’s Nuclear Mission, in part for its focus on Nebraska-based United States Strategic Command based in Bellevue, Nebraska. [16]. In 2026, Air Force Global Strike Command shared on X (social network) that they had granted “unprecedented access” to THE WATCH to film behind-the-scenes footage of the people who work within the nuclear mission.
