Jeffrey Scott Crane (May 24, 1968–Present) is currently the CEO of Dragon Discovery LLC [2], which includes Dragon Innovates LLC [3], headquartered in Miami, Florida. Jeffrey is highly experienced in LegalTech, HealthTech, DisasterTech, and other emerging technologies, and start-ups. He is also a Foreniscator and provides legal services to Fortune 100 companies and law firms in areas of data acquisition, eDiscovery, preservation, retention, investigation and digital forensics.

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Appalachian State University in 1995.

The Master in Public Administration, focused on Public Policy from Troy University in 1997.

Jointly completed the Masters in Business Administration (MBA), focused on Healthcare Administration and Management Information Systems (MIS) in 2003, and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Health in 2005 from University of South Florida.

His dissertation was titled: "Assessment of Community Health Care Providers’ Ability and Willingness to Respond to a Bioterrorism Attack”.

In his career, Dr. Crane has: traveled in over 30 countries and served with the US Army 11th Special Forces Group as an engineer, and in the US Navy as a Corpsman; held the Associate Hospital Administrator position at Jackson Health System, Miami, Florida, overseeing the billion dollar corporation and the nation’s busiest hospital’s (based on number of admissions to a single facility) emergency operations and pandemic influenza preparedness activities; worked as a bioterrorism coordinator for the State of Florida; served as a subject matter expert on mass casualty incidents for the cruise industry and local governments, security expert for State Department, and an Expert Advisor on healthcare management issues to the U.S. Surgeon General and the Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Florida Secretary of Health and state senators, and local government officials. He has responded to numerous hurricanes and man-made disaster.

Prior to founding Dragon Discovery LLC, Jeff was the director of data acquisitions and forensics group within Merrill Corporation’s (now DTI Global) Client Advisory Services division for several years, where he provided a full spectrum of e-Discovery consulting services to large, multinational clients worldwide, conducting high-profile investigations for more than 150+ cases, including Congressional investigations, federal indictments, HRS 2nd Requests, intellectual property theft, and RICO cases.

From June 2006 to August 2009, Dr. Crane was the Executive Director of the Congressman John P. Murtha Institute for Homeland Security at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in Pennsylvania. Where he helped raise $50 million in funding for various projects, including NSA, DoD and DOJ/FBI Projects related to WMDs, Pandemics, Cybersecurity and the development of software driven technology to support Army CSTs Responders.

One such project, Jeff initially sponsored and co-created the Cybersecurity Research Roundtable Series with Dr. Dighton Fiddner[1] from 2007-2014 that included top experts in the field, such as the Strategic Studies Institute, U.S. Army War College; the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), and the Heinz School of Public Policy, Carnegie Mellon University; the Applied Physics Laboratory, Johns Hopkins University; the Center for National Preparedness and the Visual Information Systems Center (VISC), University of Pittsburgh. The IUP is the largest member university of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
