Jeffrey M. Smith is the Mayor of Watertown, New York. Since 2006, Smith owns and operates QuikMed Urgent Care in Watertown.[1]
Early life and education[edit]
Jeffrey was born in Watertown on November 8, 1969. He attended Immaculate Heart Central School, where he graduated. Smith received a Associate's degree in criminal justice at Jefferson Community College, where he also studied math and science. Smith studied at Albany State University, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in political science.
Early career[edit]
Before serving as Mayor, he served three terms on City Council from 2000-2003 and 2006-2011. He also was elected to the former Jefferson County Board of Supervisors and served from 1994-1995. In 2004, at the age of 35, he completed the physician’s assistant certification program at LeMoyne College.
Career as Mayor[edit]
On November 5, 2019, Smith won the election with 1,653 votes compared to 1,325 and 1,271 votes, or 38%, %31 and %30, votes towards his opposition.[2][3]
