Jena-Optronik GmbH (abbreviation JOP) is a former subsidiary of Jenoptik AG in Jena, which was sold to the EADS subsidiary Astrium at the beginning of October 2010 and now belongs to Airbus Defense and Space.
The company has many years of experience in the development and manufacture of optoelectronics sensors, instruments, and software for spaceflight. Within the former VEB Carl Zeiss Jena, the engineers worked in the past on various multispectral cameras, fire control systems and instruments for electronic distance measurement.

Jena-Optronik GmbH was founded in 1992 and was a wholly-owned Jenoptik subsidiary and a company of the Jenoptik Defense & Civil Systems division from 2005 to 2010.
