Jenna Gribbon

Jenna Gribbon, born December 11, 1978 in Knoxville, TN, is an American figurative painter. She attended the University of Georgia in Athens, GA[1] and earned her BFA in Drawing and Painting in 2001. In 2003, Gribbon relocated to New York City, where she began working in the studio of Jeff Koons as a painter and color technician. [2] In 2006 [3] she was commissioned by Sofia Coppola to make three paintings for the film, "Marie Antoinette". In 2019, Gribbon graduated from Hunter College in New York City with her MFA[4], and subsequently became represented by Fredericks & Freiser[5], a gallery in New York City's Chelsea neighborhood. Her first solo show with the gallery[6], entitled When I Looked at You the Light Changed, opened in September 2019.[7] [8] In February 2020, a solo exhibition titled, GAY GAY GAY! featuring portraits of "close friends of Jenna’s cast as fictional characters and cultural figures that have intrigued her since childhood" opened at Howard's Athens [9], a gallery owned and run by fellow figurative painter Ridley Howard.[10] In September 2020, Gribbon's solo exhibition, Regarding Me Regarding You, opened at GNYP Gallery in Berlin.[11] On May 1, 2021, her two-person show with the Estate of Agnès Varda, titled Agnès V. par Jenna G. will be opening at Sim Smith Gallery[12] in London, U.K.
