Jens Monsees (born March 3, 1970 in Germany) is a German-Australian business executive. He is the chief executive officer of Infomedia, a publicly traded company on the Australian Stock Exchange.[1] He is the former CEO of WPP AUNZ.[2]

Biography and career[edit]

Monsees was born on 3rd March, 1970 in Germany. Monsees embarked on his career in 1999 while he was working with Henkel as its Assistant Product Manager before finally being promoted to International Brand Manager of the company in 2002. He left Henkel in 2003 after working with the company for 4 years. In October 2003, he was hired by BMW as the Manager of Global Marketing and communications strategy. He served in  that capacity until 2006, where he was in charge of market strategy for United States, UK, Germany, Italy, France, Japan and Spain.

In 2006, he was appointed International Innovation Manager of BMW where he served till 2007. After leaving BMW, he was offered a position as Industry Head Consumer Packed Goods and Health Care at Google Germany. From  March 2014 to September 2014, he was appointed Director of Branding in the Automotive, Consumer goods and health care for Google Germany. In 2014, he was appointed Global CEO of Solution Group Digital Marketing at arvato, Bertelsmann. He served in that capacity till February 2016. Between February 2016 and September 2019, he was appointed Chief Digital Officer and Vice President Digital Strategy of BMW Group.[3]

In October 2019, Monsees succeeded Mike Connaghan as the CEO of WPP AUNZ until May 2022 when he stepped down as CEO.[4][5] He was subsequently appointed CEO of Infomedia, a publicly traded company on the Australian Stock Exchange in May 2022.[6]
